“We’ll have a presentations and a discussion on what we’ve done in the past,” said Brighton Angelina Placido, a member of the Technodogs who serves as a spokeswoman. “Our captains will speak, and our mentors will speak. We’ll also have a video playing from First Robotics (which runs the competition) that explains this year’s competition.”

The Technodogs team works with engineers at General Motors and Ford to build robots that will be used in competitions in March and April.

After spending much of the first semester working on fundraising, the group will spend the next few weeks working after school on this year’s project.

“We work on it every night,” Placido said. “People come in, we talk about it and we build the robot.”
