Bridge work along US-23 begins; Village Place mall remaining open

Green Oak Village Bridge Constr. InfographicThe Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is beginning a $2.2 million investment to repair several bridges along US-23 in Livingston County.

One of the first bridges to be under construction is Lee Road over US-23. Lee Road will be closed for approximately 18 days with a detour posted. During construction, the ramps at Lee Road and US-23 will remain open, along with the roundabouts.

Brighton-based Green Oak Village Place mall will be rerouting shoppers to the easiest accessible course into the center. During the closure, Green Oak Village Place will operate at its normal business hours of Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The tentative schedule for the other bridge work along the corridor this fall is as follows:

  • Crouse Road construction is scheduled to begin in mid-September with traffic maintained on the bridge using a temporary signal.
  • Faussett Road is scheduled to close over US-23 starting in late September with a detour posted.
  • White Lake Road construction is scheduled to start in late September with traffic maintained on the bridge using a temporary signal.
  • Center Road construction is scheduled to start in mid-October with traffic maintained on the bridge using a temporary signal.
