Be Our Guest, Catholic Charities prepare baskets for foster program

Be Our Guest Adult Day “Guests”, their families, and Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) co-workers had a ton of fun helping the Easter Bunny by making 32 fun-filled Easter baskets for the children in LCCC’s Foster Family Care program.  Many were themed baskets and all were filled with loads of toys, candies, games and love for the children experiencing distress, anguish and grief due to their current situation.

“It was so fun to ‘play’ the Easter bunny last week during my home visits. You had made one for a teen boy that was a baseball – he is obsessed with baseball and it was perfect,” said LCCC’s Child Welfare Specialist Sarah Kremhelmer. “I went to one house and my little guy looked up at me and said, ‘Ninja Turtles?! I LOVE the Ninja Turtles! Thank you!’ We have a few cases where the kids are struggling with several issues and it was nice to allow them to just be a kid and enjoy a sweet surprise.”
